Vanessa Finishes 3rd at FCG National Championships!

Congratulations to Pacific Golf Academy student Vanessa Zhang for finishing 3rd last week in the 10th annual FCG National Championship located at Sycuan Resort in San Diego, California.  Vanessa played some amazing golf and was tied of the lead with only 4 hole to play.  While her playing competitors caught her in the end she still played some stellar golf all week.  Well done Vanessa, we strongly feel there will be many many championships in the near future.

Pacific Golf Academy loves the FCG!

The FCG provides an excellent platform for junior golf development. We have students as young as 6 years old, all the way up to 18 and have been attending FCG events for many years now, we have seen first hand the positive effects on the students of Pacific Golf Academy. The FCG allows our students to compete in major international events that are hosted at world class venues such as the Westin Mission Hills, La Costa, Primm Valley and Sycuan which usually are played under perfect weather conditions and being from Vancouver, Canada this is a major bonus. We focus our students mainly on the World Series events offered by the FCG such as the SoCal Championship, National Championship, Las Vegas Championship, International and the World Championship.

The FCG not only allows our students a highly competitive and international field, it also offers many exemptions into major events such as the Callaway Junior World Championships held annually in San Diego in July. These exemptions are crucial for our student’s resumes and we focus diligently on training our students to gain these valuable spots. We want all of our students to become champions in both golf and life and this tour is perfect to watch our young stars grow and compete. We love travelling to the US for the best competition available and being only a short 2.5 hour direct flight to Southern California, it allows us to easily get to the hot spot of Junior Golf in America. We love the FCG and all of their staff, Chris and Antrone have always been so easy to contact and engage with and the tournaments are exceptionally well run by an incredible team of staff and volunteers. The FCG has been integral in the growth of Pacific Golf Academy and we are grateful for the opportunities they are providing junior golfers. Together, we are able to continue growing the game of Golf.

Vegas Baby!

The Pacific Golf Academy students were in Las Vegas last for the Future Champions Golf Las Vegas Invitational.  This was also a World Series event and direct qualifier for the IMG Junior Worlds.

Freddy finishd 2nd in the Boys 11-12, Elise 3rd in the Girls 9-10 and Aaron 4th in the Boys 9-10.  Also having a solid but poor putting round was Steven Wang as he had 38 putts for a round of 83. Way to go team!!

Richard Choi joins the Team!

We are very excited to announce that Richard Choi is joining the Pacific Golf Academy team.  Richard will be a vital part in developing our fitness programs for our students as well as instructing at the highest level.

The start of Richard's golf career began at the age of 11 when he lowered his index from 20 to a 6 within two months. His love for the game flourished when he joined the local junior golf tours, eventually advancing to the national and international stage. After a successful junior golf career, Richard went on to compete at the NCAA level at Western Washington University, where he studied business and recreation.

In 2012, Richard turned professional and joined the PGA of Canada.  He is now a certified TPI instructor and is eager to share his knowledge and experiences with those that wish to elevate their golf game.

Richard is dedicated to exploring and analyzing the modern advancements of the game of golf. Whether it is through innovative swing mechanics, leading-edge gear and club fitting, or physical and mental preparation, he believes there is always a way to achieve a higher level of golf.
